VMi manages the RDi Project Portfolio of the companies in the Vicinay Marine group, focusing its RDi efforts in the development of cost-efficient and innovative mooring systems and components, materials, corrosion/wear prevention methods, and a deep understanding of the behavior of ageing moorings.

VMi´s mooring integrity, materials, and structural discipline expertise is key to implement the appropriate fatigue and fracture mechanics damaging models in the digital twin in the scope of the MooringSenseProject.

Contribution: Numerical Modelling of Damage in Mooring Chains

  • Vicinay Marine Innovaciónleads the development of T3.1 where loads, degradation, and failure mechanisms of mooring systems for Floating Offshore Wind turbines will be investigated.
  • Vicinay Marine Innovación will develop advanced numerical models characterizing the damage due to different types of loads and degrading mechanisms.
  • Vicinay Marine Innovación will contribute to T6.1 to define the MooringSense integrity management strategy for mooring systems.
